Maestro can't you hear them? Having the name of a high-authority human meant nothing to this stray, she simply took it in as a title her original owners gave her. Maestro was always aggressive towards her humans and never was very good with manners. Now that she was away from society though, possibly she could start anew. Wrong. Maestro will always be the sociopath kind of canine she always had. There were echos in the wind, they seemed to tell the story of a dog, lost, lonely, hungry and simply broken. Was this the tale of Miss Maestro, the master of disguise? With each icy gust that maneuvered through the trees, the lass would shiver a bit but then shake it off with a snort. The rays of the night-time's moon could only filter through the tightly knit canopies of leaves enough for the commonly sighted dog to see, fairly. She kept her cold gaze ahead of her, with each tiny twig she snared her paw on she would shake it out and then continue to trudge through this dastardly forest. Owls played their, less than fine tune and the notorious crickets chirped away. Ever time either of the two creatures even made a small sound, Maestro cried out at them, trying to get a bit of silence. After all, the activity that was buzzing around in the day time shouldn't go through to the night, should it? Maestro never thought so. Her paws laid themselves cleanly against the forest floor, stepping on almost every tiny pebble and stick they could possibly find; in a very uncoordinated fashion was the lovely canine waking. Maestro's tail flicked back and forth, her rhythmic humming echoed into the air lightly as she kept moving, ears pricked back with little attention to the surroundings.

A dog's angry bark bounced off the trees and into the alpha female's ears. Who dared to intrude on her pack's territory? Well, it wasn't really a pack yet. It was just her and the pack's original founder, Florence, who was now an elder. Fur raised and ears up, the blue merle female climbed out of her den and down the tree. The noise seemed to have come from around Crystal Creek. "Ay, 'lo there, stranger. I must warn ye that yer on the lands of the Rioga Pack." She stepped forward from the bushes and into a shaft of moonlight, that turned her blue fur silver. "And oi would know. Oi am the pack's Alpha Female." The Aussie looked at the stranger. Female, Husky no doubt. From the looks of her, she wasn't a pack dog. Perhaps a loner, stray or Rouge. Maybe even a house pet, but she saw no collar signaling the human's claim. The Irish princess kept her guard up. She remained tense and her tail stayed up, signaling power.

Maestro can't you hear them?
Her head whipped violently toward the accent, annoying at best. "I'm sure you would," she snapped at her, ears still pricked back, twisting and turning to accommodate the noises. Maestro wasn't about ready to be brought into submission, after all, she was strong enough to hold high stakes. Her eyes focused in on the voice, slightly jumping from place to place on the new company. "And now you're going to tell me to state my business here and my name? Ha. I love how it happens," her voice was cast into the air without even the slightest hint of emotion; it was monotone and not playful at all. Maestro was not embarrassed at all by her own, scraggly and broken down appearance. For the few seconds that she was talking and flicking her ears around she was still placing paw after paw forward. She was now at a halt as her body twisted toward the other female's, pale blue eyes seeming a bit glassy to the look. The lass' muscles were not tense, but relaxed as she stared, waiting for some quick and wittily though out answer. Tonight could finally be the night that Maestro gets her wish; a terrible wast of a wish at that. Intruding was the best she could do for now until she learned of any other wolves that resided in this area that could be a quick threat to her life; if she were to get in a blood-battle she wouldn't want any allies coming up to help out. And by the looks of this majestic place, the members may be quite powerful and wield some special abnormalities that could make them much stronger than a starving loner.word count: 283

The air was filled with cracking and popping as the blue sparks on her body leaped further off her body. How dare this unkept rag insult her! Her blue merle fur rose slightly with the static and small, blue strands of electricity wove between the hairs. Little pulses of electricity escaped her claws and into the ground below, which absorbed the shocks. Mirko lifted her lip slightly, exposing pearl white teeth, illuminated by the the blue coils that wrapped around them. "Yes, oi suppose oi am." She arched her neck and shoved her ears forward. "Ay, look 'ere. Oi don't want to shed any blood and by the looks of ye, yer not a pack dog, and hence, not a threat to me and my pack." A glint appeared in her eyes. "Oi wouldn't want to get in a tangle with a dog loaded with electricity. Would ye?" She moved a step closer then stopped.

Maestro can't you hear them?
"Not a threat?" she gasped, her jaws snapping shut as her head twisted with a crack away from the other dog. "Who can see the devils of Hell but can not see any light from heaven?" her voice was quickly echoed and faded with ease as she took a paw and placed it forward, leaving it there for a second to flash a devilish smile back at the dog. "Answer that riddle wisely; your reply will become your fate." With that, she twisted her head back to the scenery ahead of her and disregarded the odd nature of this animal's talent. Maestro sighed and shook her body, tail swaying back and forth a couple times as she did. The darkness seemed to jump away from the almost alice blue hue of her eyes, they seemed to somehow cast light. A menacing chuckle entered the air as her lip curled slightly to reveal pearl incisors, her nostrils flaring at the scents that surrounded the territory. "Maestro," with that last, one, word, the female took her right front paw and placed it forward, then the back, then the other, and she was walking over into the darkness. So sophisticated is her voice; all her carefully chosen words, picked piece by piece to form a sentence that could raise the hairs on your neck so easily; a devil's melody is what she plays. Her game of destiny and death.word count: 236

The electric canine watched the poorly adapted husky walk off into the woods. Maestro. Odd name. Fit her perfectly. Odd name for an odd canine. The constant popping in the air faded slightly as Mirko relaxed, but the blue snakes still wove between the hairs on her body, casting an eerie blue glow around her. She closed her mouth and stared after the other canine and thought, "You got lucky. I would normally chase after an ointruder and give them what for, but a lowly rag such as yourself is a waste of perfectly good electricity and time." Her lip curled as another thought entered her head. "Just stay away from our pack's headquarters, you flea ridden rat." She saw a quick bolt of yellow up in the sky, followed by a summoning bark. Florence. "Better see what she needs." The blue marbled canine walked off into the direction of her pack's base camp. "Coming, Florence!" The merle increased her pace to a run.

"I never learned your name," she chuckled, without looking behind her she knew the other canine was following. She wasn't about ready to wait for an answer, as the dog bolted off in another direction. Without a thought, Maestro whipped around and began to slink slowly forward after her. Her footsteps made little sound as she moved, shroud in the bushes and leaves. The sky was overcast with the canopies, towering high above Maestro herself. Her body was lowered to the ground a little, stomach just barely touching it. A rabbit was innocently hopping about, not noticing the dog. When the time came that the hare stood still, the she-dog pounced. She showed no mercy to the little animal who she had just ripped her teeth into.
((Sorry for the shortish post..it's a little under the word count, hope that is fine just this once.))

"Mirko." She said simply as she continued walking. The alpha female stopped when some bushes rustle nearby. The popping in the air became more frequent once again, but then resided to the quiet, occasional pop. She decided that it was probably just the wind. Just then, the sound of a dying rabbit reached her ears, somewhere from behind her. Curious, the female followed the sound until she reached the source. What she saw angered her. How dare that good for nothing rouge steal prey from her territory! The crackling and popping once again became more frequent and louder. She forced herself to calm down. 'You're overreacting.' she thought to herself. But then, she was planning her attack, as Maestro might have heard her. Leap at the thief head on, blue bolts branching about six inches away from her body, frame stretched out, front legs extended out in front of her, teeth bared (lit up by blue wire wrapping around them), electricity coming from her claws, face disfigured by a snarl of rage.
(Yeah. That's fine. Don't sweat it. Oh, my little Mirko. Such a drama queen.)
